Anita T. Conner, CPA, MS Tax, CFP®
With a background in accounting, taxation, financial planning, insurance and investments, Anita brings a wide variety of experiences in providing strategies to help her clients work towards their personal and business goals. Having worked in the industry for over 35 years, financial advisory services has become a passion for Anita and she has been tapped by many organizations and the media to share her insight, experiences and expertise in the field. Every Sunday you can hear Anita’s financial tips on 105.3 FM (WDAS).
In her career before opening her own certified public accounting & financial services firm, Anita was a Controller for a Subsidiary of Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, Tax Manager for Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company and a Tax Accountant for Price Waterhouse, one of the top certified public accounting firms in the country. Anita’s accomplishments have not gone unrecognized as she has received over 60 citations and awards for her business and professional achievements, including the Best Tax Preparation Service in Philadelphia, by US Commerce Association and “Top Wealth Manager” as seen in Philadelphia Magazine.
Anita is deeply involved in the community having formed G.E.T. Financial Education Center, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to eliminate the wealth disparities in the Black community by providing workshops and coaching. She also co-founded with her daughter Kerri Conner Matchett, Praise Is The Cure®, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to eliminate breast cancer disparities among Black women by providing education, access to screening and treatment and other support services for breast cancer patients, survivors and their families.
Anita graduated from Drexel University with a degree in accounting and Philadelphia University with a master’s degree in Taxation. Anita is a certified public accountant, certified financial plannerTM, and holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations, as well as her life and health producer license. Anita lives in Abington, PA with her husband, John. Both of their children, Kerri Conner Matchett and John Conner, Jr. are partners in the firm.
Kerri Conner Matchett
Kerri Conner Matchett, CPA is a partner at Anita T. Conner and Associates P.C., Certified Public Accountants and Financial Services / The Tax Divas. Kerri has over twenty years of experience within the field of accounting and is the Partner-in-Charge of the accounting services at the Firm. She graduated from Howard University.
Kerri is very active in both the professional and local communities. She is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter, the Delaware Valley PA Chapter of the Links, and the Pennsylvania Society of Tax and Accounting Professionals. Kerri is also serves on the board of directors of Progress Trust, Inc. and Progress Investment Associates.
In 2008, Kerri was diagnosed with an advanced stage of breast cancer. As a result, she also co-founded the non-profit, Praise Is The Cure, Inc. (PITC) whose mission is to eliminate breast cancer disparities among Black women by providing education, access to early detection and other support services.
Over the years, Kerri has received numerous awards and citations.
In 2010, Kerri authored her first book, titled “My Mommy Has Breast Cancer, But She Is Ok”. Her hopes are that this book will inspire women with breast cancer and other adults to have conversations with young children about the journey to recovery. As a result of the book, Kerri along with her daughter Madison, age 13, have started the Maddie Movement – Think Pink Events, and Flip Flops for a Purpose. Both programs are operated under Praise is the Cure, Inc.
Kerri has traveled the country encouraging and inspiring both adults and children to never give up regardless of what life experiences come their way. Kerri has appeared on numerous radio and TV shows, including the NBC Ten Show and has been featured in many newspaper articles for both her professional and community endeavors.
In 2016, Kerri was inducted into the McKinley Elementary School Hall of Fame for her service to the community.
In 2017, Kerri was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and is still fighting the disease today. She currently lives in Jenkintown, PA with her husband Steven Miles. They have three children, Madison (13), James (8) and Haniyah (7).
